Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker at Key Unlocking Futures
At Key Unlocking Futures, part of Progress Housing Group, we help people across Lancashire build better lives. For over 30 years, we’ve supported children, young people and families through difficult times with compassionate, practical services that make a real difference.
We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker to act as a first point of contact for people referred into our domestic abuse service. You’ll complete initial risk assessments, provide crisis intervention and safety planning, and deliver focused, short-term support that helps survivors stay safe, regain confidence and move forward.
Your Role as a Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker for Key:
As a Triage Case & Community Outreach Worker, you will manage incoming referrals from MASH, MARAC, partner organisations and the helpline, making timely initial contact with survivors. You will complete SafeLives DASH risk assessments, provide tailored safety planning and crisis intervention, and ensure cases are directed to the most appropriate support.
You will also carry a small caseload of medium-risk cases, offering person-centred, trauma-informed and time-limited support around safeguarding, housing, mental health, finances, welfare benefits and related needs. Working closely with statutory, voluntary and community partners, you will advocate for survivors, help them access safe housing and local services, and support them to build independence and achieve clear outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
