Bus Upholstery Trimmer
Location: Northampton Depot
Salary: £37,500 PA
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Join Our Engineering Team!
We're looking for a skilled and detail-focused Trimmer to join our Engineering team at Northampton Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with upholstery experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and wants to play a key role in maintaining the comfort, presentation, and condition of our fleet. Working across our vehicles, you'll be responsible for repairing and recovering passenger seating, ensuring that interiors are maintained to the highest standards while supporting vehicle availability and the overall customer experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Repairing damaged vehicle seats by removing and replacing moquette and other upholstery materials.
- Measuring, cutting, sewing, stitching, and fitting replacement seat covers.
- Replacing seat boards, foam, head buffers, and other interior trim components as required.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure a high standard of finish, durability, and presentation.
- Maintaining stock levels of trim materials and components, including ordering replacement supplies when required.
- Ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are stored safely and securely.
- Working closely with engineering and workshop teams to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

What We're Looking For
- Experience and knowledge in upholstery repair & recovery, trimming, or a similar craft-based role.
- Understanding of different trim, upholstery, and repair materials.
- Experience using specialist upholstery tools, equipment, and needles safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of safe working practices within a workshop environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
