HGV Class 2 Driver - Waste & Recycling
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious HGV Class 2 Driver to join our Waste & Recycling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection, transportation, and delivery of waste and recyclable materials while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Carry out scheduled collections and deliveries of waste and recyclable materials from commercial, industrial, and domestic customers.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all waste is transported in compliance with environmental legislation, duty of care requirements, and company policies.
- Adhere to Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, and company compliance procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading operations where required.
- Ensure waste is securely contained and transported safely to designated recycling or disposal facilities.
- Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers and members of the public.
- Keep vehicles clean, safe, and roadworthy at all times.
- Report accidents, incidents, near misses, or operational issues promptly.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including safe manual handling practices.

Essential Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of Driver Hours Regulations and transport compliance requirements.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage routes effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within the waste management, recycling, environmental services, or construction sectors.
