Role Description
WE’RE HIRING – HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER
Fitzgerald Plant Services is looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our growing team, transporting plant machinery and specialist equipment throughout the UK.
Location: Cwmbran, South Wales – NP44 1TS
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability
Pay: Negotiable depending on experience, plus overtime
Nights away: Up to 3–4 nights per week
The Role
- Transport construction and agricultural plant, commercial vehicles, rail equipment, and associated machinery.
- Safely load, secure, and unload machinery independently.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and keep your vehicle clean and presentable.
- Follow drivers’ hours rules, tachograph procedures, and all relevant transport requirements.
- Represent Fitzgerald Plant Services professionally at customer sites.

What We’re Looking For
- A valid HGV Class 1 licence and at least one year’s relevant driving experience.
- Competence in operating plant machinery to load and unload safely.
- Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements.
- An NPORS Loader/Securer qualification or equivalent.
- ALLMI HIAB certification would be an advantage.
Training towards the above certifications may be available for applicants who meet the other essential requirements.
