About the Role
This is an exciting field-based sales opportunity covering the entire Cornwall region. The role is territory-focused and is not based from a fixed office location. Regular travel throughout Cornwall is an essential requirement of the role, with the successful candidate expected to proactively manage their territory and maximize every opportunity to develop and grow the business.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 5.00 pm i.e. 40 hours per week
- 60 minutes lunch break (unpaid) must be taken between 12 noon and 2.00 pm
Salary
Opportunity to earn £70,000+ based on a base and commission structure
Key Responsibilities
- The Truck Sales Executive will be responsible for the proactive management and development of the Cornwall territory, with a clear focus on delivering profitable sales growth, increasing DAF market share and developing long-term customer relationships.
- Develop and maximize new truck sales opportunities across the Cornwall territory.
- Generate profitable new business across fleet operators, owner-drivers, and other commercial vehicle customers.
- Identify, develop and secure conquest opportunities from competing manufacturers.
- Retain and grow existing Adams Morey customer relationships through regular engagement and proactive account management.
- Increase DAF market share by identifying opportunities within both new and existing customer accounts.
- Promote the full DAF product range, including diesel and zero-emission vehicle solutions.
- Promote associated PACCAR Financial, DAF Repair & Maintenance, and connected vehicle solutions to provide customers with complete transport packages.
- Conduct professional vehicle demonstrations, presentations, and product discussions tailored to individual customer requirements.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with fleet decision-makers, transport managers, business owners, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of customer visibility and market presence throughout Cornwall.
- Proactively manage the territory through effective planning, prospecting, customer visits, and follow-up activity.
- Maintain an accurate and active sales pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are appropriately qualified, progressed, and recorded.
- Prepare professional and commercially competitive quotations and sales proposals.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements, local market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with Parts, Service, Finance, Driver Training, and Administration teams to deliver complete transport solutions and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Ensure a professional and consistent customer experience throughout the sales process, from initial enquiry and vehicle specification through to delivery, handover, and ongoing account management.
- Take ownership of customer follow-up and aftersales engagement to maximize retention, customer satisfaction, and future sales opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely management of customer information, sales activities, and opportunities through approved company systems and processes.
- Represent Adams Morey and DAF professionally at all times, acting as a visible and credible ambassador for both brands throughout Cornwall.
- Support and contribute to wider dealership and regional business objectives.

Ideal Candidate
- Proven sales and business development capability, with a strong focus on achieving commercial results.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to develop and maintain long-term commercial relationships.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently managing a field-based territory.
- Strong commercial awareness with effective negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience within the commercial vehicle, transport, logistics, or automotive sectors.
- Previous B2B, fleet, or vehicle sales experience.
- Knowledge of the truck and commercial vehicle market.
- Understanding of vehicle finance, repair and maintenance, or other associated transport solutions.
