Salary: £29,000 + Commission (Company Car after 6 months)

At Volvo Trucks, we are one of the leading truck manufacturers in the UK, with one of the largest shares of the UK truck market. We are also helping shape the future of transport, transitioning from diesel to alternative fuels including electric and gas, while developing our digital services and telematics.
We are looking for a Truck Sales Trainee to join our New Vehicle Sales team and embark on a two-year development programme, combining formal training with hands-on experience to develop you into a successful sales professional.
You will join a team with a proven track record of developing trainees, with one recently progressing into a Truck Sales Trainee role and another currently progressing through the programme.

Your development and the day-to-day…
You will work closely with our Dealers and customers while gaining exposure to different areas of the business. You'll also spend significant time shadowing the experienced Transport Solutions Executive who covers the territory, learning the local market, meeting customers and seeing how successful customer relationships and sales opportunities are developed.
As you progress, you'll begin building your own customer relationships and taking on greater responsibility.
- Building relationships with existing customers and developing new customer opportunities across your territory
- Learning the Volvo Truck Sales Process and how to understand customer needs and recommend the right transport solutions
- Developing your sales skills through prospecting, presentations, customer meetings and real hands-on experience
- Building product knowledge across Volvo Trucks, including electric, gas, alternative fuels, digital services and telematics
- Using data and technology including CRM, operator licence data, market information and AI to identify sales opportunities
- Working with experienced colleagues and key stakeholders across Volvo Trucks to understand the wider business and deliver the best solutions for customers
- Attending customer and industry events and participating in Commercial Crew meetings to identify opportunities and deliver results
Who are you?
We're looking for someone who wants to build a career in sales.
You might already work in, B2B sales, customer service, logistics, transport or a technical environment. Or you could be looking for your first opportunity to establish yourself in a professional sales career.
Whatever Your Background, You Will Have
- A genuine interest in understanding customers' business and the challenges they face
- Sales-driven and ambitious, with a genuine desire to succeed and develop a career in sales
- Positive, self-motivated and resilient, with a "can do" attitude and determination to develop new opportunities
- Strong communicator and relationship builder, able to work effectively with customers, colleagues and key stakeholders
- Willing to learn and develop, with accountability for your actions and a high level of integrity and respect for others
- Full UK driving licence
- GCSEs with a minimum grade 5 in English and Maths, and good Microsoft Office skills
