Whipps Cross Hospital Overview
Whipps Cross is a district general hospital located on the edge of Epping Forest, between Walthamstow Central, Leytonstone, and Snaresbrook stations.
First opening over a hundred years ago, our team at Whipps Cross has one of the busiest A&E departments in the country with more than 152,000 patients attending each year. Other departments are just as busy with over 77,000 inpatient stays and 381,000 outpatient appointments.
The team at Whipps Cross works with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, and no two days are the same. We have developed a strong reputation as a center of excellence for various specialist services such as urology, ENT, audiology, cardiology, colorectal surgery, cancer care, and acute stroke care.
Job Role
The post holder will have a good general medical background with experience in UK Emergency Medicine and the ability to diagnose, treat, and appropriately dispose of patients presenting as an emergency. The following competencies comprise a list that the post holder would have achieved in previous posts before being appointed. Those not achieved at the time of appointment should be acquired under the supervision of the Consultants in Emergency Medicine:
