The Candidate
Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career and make a real difference across our Trust? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced finance professional to join our Trust Central Team as a Trust Finance Manager. You’ll play a key role in supporting your allocated academies, working closely with Principals and Business Teams to provide insightful financial information, support effective budget management and help ensure our academies are financially well placed to succeed.
You’ll bring proven finance experience, ideally within an education setting, alongside experience of managing budgets and a strong eye for detail. We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident with numbers and IT, able to build effective relationships and comfortable managing competing priorities.
Most importantly, you’ll be a positive, proactive team player who enjoys working with others, embraces new ideas and is keen to make a difference. If you have a ‘can do’ attitude, take pride in delivering high standards and are committed to continuous learning and the values of Affinity Learning Partnership, we’d love to hear from you and explore what you could bring to our Finance Team.
25-30 hours per week, 52.143 working weeks per year.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
