The Trust is recruiting to a Trust Specialist Registrar post in Rheumatology for a fixed term of 12 months. The post will be based at Northwick Park Hospital only and it would be an ideal starting point for someone looking to apply for SpR training schemes in Rheumatology.
The postholder will work as a member of the Rheumatology team with F1 trainees, SHOs, ST registrars and the consultant staff to ensure high quality care of rheumatology and medical patients. The rheumatology team is responsible for care of patients on Jonson Ward, DRU ward and outlying patients on Gray ward. The rheumatology team provide rheumatological opinions and urgent care to the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit.
There are currently 7 consultants in rheumatology and general medicine to whom the post holder will be responsible and this team will be expanding to 8 by the end of the year. All have a particular interest in the interface of general medicine in rheumatology, and two of them are responsible for running a nationally commissioned service for connective tissue diseases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
