Trust & Tax Manager – Wills & Inheritance

Are you an experienced Trust & Tax professional looking for your next opportunity, or an AAT/ATT-qualified accountant looking to take your career in a new direction?
We are working with Clifton Ingram LLP, a well-established and growing law firm, who are seeking a Trust & Tax Manager to join their busy Wills & Inheritance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Private Client team and play a key role in the financial, tax and administrative management of trusts and estates.
The successful candidate will work across a broad range of private client matters, including trusts, probate, estate administration, inheritance tax and tax planning, working closely with solicitors, clients and other professionals.
The Role Will Involve:
- Managing the financial and administrative aspects of trusts and estates
- Preparing and maintaining trust and estate accounts
- Managing double-entry bookkeeping and financial reconciliations
- Assisting with trust and estate tax returns
- Supporting with Inheritance Tax calculations and reporting
- Assisting with probate and estate administration matters
- Preparing estate accounts and supporting beneficiary distributions
- Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, clients, solicitors and HMRC
- Using Excel for financial calculations, schedules and reporting
- Working alongside the wider Wills & Inheritance team to ensure matters progress efficiently
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience within trusts, tax, probate, estate administration or a similar private client environment
- Strong Excel skills and knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Experience preparing or assisting with tax returns would be advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- The ability to manage your own workload with limited supervision
- Experience using TaxCalc and/or Isokon would be advantageous
The firm would also consider:
- AAT or ATT-qualified candidates from an accountancy background who are looking to move into a Private Client environment
- Candidates with strong accounting, administration and financial skills who are keen to develop their knowledge of trusts, tax and estate administration
