About Coram Family and Childcare
Coram Family and Childcare is part of the Coram Group of specialist children's charities. Its work focuses on childcare and the early years, seeking to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.
The charity combines research, policy advocacy and parent-led programmes to understand the challenges facing families and campaign for solutions that parents and children need. Its work is particularly focused on families facing disadvantage, social exclusion, poverty and barriers to accessing services.
Coram Family and Childcare publishes the annual Childcare Survey, a leading source of evidence on the cost and availability of childcare across Great Britain. It also delivers the Parent Champions programme, which enables parents to support other families in their communities to access information, services and entitlements. Its Parent Champion schemes reach tens of thousands of families each year.
The charity also works with local authorities, childcare providers, policymakers and other organisations to develop evidence-based solutions that improve access to high-quality and affordable childcare and early education.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
