Two Hands-On Roles for Cultural Leaders Who Want to Shape the Future of Contemporary Art on the North Norfolk Coast
Cromer Artspace is entering an exciting phase of growth — expanding our public art programme, deepening our learning and engagement work, and strengthening partnerships with national galleries. We’re looking for two new trustees who want to play an active role in shaping a small organisation that consistently punches above its weight in delivering high-quality contemporary art in a rural coastal town.
These are practical, strategic, doing roles — ideal for people who understand the cultural sector and want to make a tangible difference in a place where access to the arts is limited but appetite is high.
Trustee for Community Engagement & Learning
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of community-centred cultural practice — someone who knows how to build trust, reach new audiences, and design programmes that feel welcoming, inclusive, and relevant.

You’ll help shape our learning and engagement offer across Cromer and North Norfolk, working with children, young people, families, schools, community groups, and people who may not currently see art as “for them”. You’ll bring sector insight into co-creation, participation, informal learning, and place-based cultural work.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to champion creativity in a rural context and help embed lifelong learning into the fabric of a coastal town.
Trustee for Communications
We’re looking for a communications professional who understands how small cultural organisations build profile, clarity, and reach. You’ll help shape our voice across digital channels, print, press, storytelling, and regional networks — ensuring our work is visible to the people who will benefit most.

You’ll bring strategic insight into audience development, brand identity, digital engagement, and sector-aware messaging. This role offers the chance to amplify a distinctive rural arts organisation and help position Cromer Artspace within wider cultural conversations.
What You’ll Be Part Of
Cromer Artspace delivers exhibitions, public art, workshops, talks, walks, and creative projects across the town. As a trustee, you’ll help guide our strategy, support our volunteers, and ensure our work remains ambitious, inclusive, and community-focused.
You’ll join a small, energetic, volunteer-led organisation committed to widening access to contemporary art outside metropolitan centres, strengthening cultural life in North Norfolk, and collaborating with national partners to bring exceptional work to a rural audience.
