📣 Could you help shape the next chapter of Lockerbie Old School SCIO?

This is an incredibly exciting time for Lockerbie Old School.

After years of planning, fundraising, and development, Lockerbie Old School Community Hub is becoming fully operational and, as a Development Trust, we’re also looking ahead to what comes next.

We have big ambitions for the future and want to continue developing opportunities, projects, and assets that create a lasting benefit for Lockerbie and the wider community.

As we enter this next chapter, we’re looking for new Trustees to join our Board and bring fresh ideas, experience, and perspectives.

We’d particularly love to hear from people with experience or knowledge in areas such as:

  • Community engagement and community development
  • Business, enterprise, and commercial development
  • Construction, property, and the built environment
  • Charities, Development Trusts, and the third sector
  • Finance, funding, and fundraising
  • Marketing and communications
  • Governance and strategic development

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You don’t need experience in all of these areas, and previous Board or Trustee experience isn’t essential.

More than anything, we’re looking for people who care about our community, can bring their own skills and ideas to the table, and want to help us think ambitiously about what Lockerbie Old School can achieve next.

The commitment can be as much or as little as you are able to give, although we would ask Trustees to commit to one Board meeting per month.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved at a pivotal point in our journey - helping establish the Community Hub while being part of the conversations and decisions that will shape the future direction of the Development Trust.
