Trustee (Finance, HR or Legal Expertise)

About the Role

Castle Phoenix Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Trustee to join our Board and help realise our vision of growing confident learners by leading learning and excelling together.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your professional expertise to support a successful and ambitious Multi Academy Trust, ensuring that children and young people receive the highest quality education and the opportunities they need to thrive.

As a Trustee, you will contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of the Trust, helping to ensure that our schools remain financially sustainable, well governed and focused on delivering the very best outcomes for pupils.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in:

  • Finance, accounting, audit or risk management
  • Human resources, people management or organisational development
  • Legal practice, compliance or governance

Whilst previous board experience is welcome, it is not essential. We are looking for people who can bring strategic thinking, sound judgement, professional expertise and a commitment to public service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
