We're looking for two amazing trustees to join our board at Speech and Language UK. Could it be you?

You could help more children enjoy story time, learn their times tables, and share jokes with their friends and families by volunteering your time as a trustee. With a record two million children now dealing with speech and language challenges - and that number rising year on year - this a crucial time for our organisation and the children and families we support.

A Trustee vacancy has arisen following the completion of a nine-year term of office by a previous Trustee. As we welcome new members to the Board, we are keen to bring in fresh perspectives, new ideas and diverse expertise to help shape the organisation’s future.

In particular, we are looking for candidates with a background in commercial development, ideally with charity Treasurer experience, and/or expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
