After 40 years of working alongside people and communities, Help & Care is entering an exciting new chapter.
With a new three-year strategic direction, new CEO leadership, and an ambition to evolve how the organisation creates impact, this is a particularly interesting time to join our Board.
Help & Care works to understand what people and communities need, creating opportunities for people to stay well, connected, and in control, while using what we learn to shape better systems for everyone.
Our ambition for the next three years is exciting and ambitious.
We want to move beyond being predominantly defined by individual commissioned services and become increasingly recognised for our ability to understand what communities need, intervene earlier, connect people with the right support, and turn what we learn into wider change.

We are looking for new Trustees who will bring fresh thinking, diverse perspectives, and complementary experience to our Board from across the charity, health and care, social enterprise, commercial, and wider sectors.
We would be particularly interested to hear from people with experience in areas including:
- Finance and investment
- Income diversification
- Fundraising and income generation
- Business development
- Marketing and communications
- Digital and IT
- People, Culture and OD
- Small or medium-sized charities or social enterprises
- Lived experience of our services

We are looking for Trustees who want to be part of the conversations that shape our future, bringing fresh thinking, curiosity, and different perspectives to help us explore the choices ahead.
Commitment
There are four in-person Board meetings each year in Dorset, together with a strategy day, occasional service visits, and other engagements.
New Trustees receive a full induction and may also contribute to a Board Committee or Task and Finish Group.
