About The Role
A trustee is someone who is willing to provide their time on a voluntary basis to sit on the Trust Board. The Trust Board has responsibility for directing the Trust’s affairs and for ensuring the Trust remains solvent, well run and delivers its charitable outcomes.
We are looking for people with HR, legal, or safeguarding experience to support us in promoting the Trust's purpose.
What are the benefits of being a trustee?
- Enhance your career
- Give back to the community
- Gain board level experience
What is the commitment of being a trustee?
Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role for people who have the energy and skills to make a real contribution to shaping the future of our schools. You do not need to have any specialist knowledge of education.
Board meetings are typically held 5 times a year, with additional committee meetings and academy visits forming part of the annual calendar. This translates to a commitment of around 6 hours per term, minimum.
Previous experience as a trustee isn't required as comprehensive induction and training will be provided.
For further information, please refer to the document attached, or email Clare Hodson-Walker at governance@affinitylp.co.uk

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
