What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who shares Cintre's commitment to improving the lives of people with learning difficulties and autism and who wants to use their experience to make a lasting impact.

You are likely to have:

• Significant experience in health and social care, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of the UK health and social care landscape, including governance, risk, and best practice.
• The ability to think strategically, offering constructive challenge and independent judgement.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to contribute at Board level.
• Integrity, sound judgement, and a commitment to acting in the best interests of the charity.
• A collaborative approach and a willingness to work with fellow Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team to achieve Cintre's strategic objectives.

Previous Trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We value diverse perspectives and encourage applications from people who are passionate about our mission and can bring relevant professional expertise to strengthen our Board.

What will you be doing?

This is a voluntary position offering the opportunity to join the Board of Cintre and contribute to an inclusive, person-centred, and user-led organisation.

As a Trustee, you will play an important role in helping Cintre grow and continue to provide high-quality, invaluable support to people with learning difficulties and autism across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.

The role is expected to require an ongoing commitment of approximately one day per month, including attendance at Board and relevant sub-committee meetings.

You will provide advice, challenge, oversight, and guidance to the Board and Senior Leadership Team, helping Cintre achieve its strategic objectives, maintain strong governance, and ensure that the people who use our services remain at the heart of everything we do.
