What difference will you make?

You will help build the governance, risk and compliance framework needed to support our sustainable growth.

Your expertise will strengthen Board oversight, accountability and decision-making, ensuring charitable funds are managed responsibly and governance arrangements between our UK and Kenyan organisations remain effective.

Ultimately, your contribution will help create a resilient organisation that can expand its impact and provide more children living in extreme poverty with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

What are we looking for?

  • Charity governance
  • Risk management
  • Compliance and regulatory affairs
  • International development
  • Board or trustee experience
  • Oversight of overseas programmes or organisations

Experience working with charities, international development organisations, grant-making bodies, or organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions would be particularly valuable.

Previous Trustee Experience Is Desirable But Not Essential.

  • Commitment to the charity's mission and values.
  • Sound judgement and an ability to assess risk proportionately.
  • Ability to analyse information and ask constructive questions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What will you be doing?

We are a UK-registered charity that raises funds in the UK and Kenya to support programmes delivered in Kenya. Our Kenyan operations are delivered through a wholly owned Kenyan company limited by guarantee with its own Board of Directors and paid staff that has grown from serving 12 children to 80 with further plans for regional growth.

As a small volunteer-led charity with no paid staff in the UK, our trustees play an active role in supporting the charity while providing effective governance and oversight.

This role acts as the Board's lead trustee for governance, risk and compliance matters, supporting the charity to maintain high standards of governance and ensuring that the UK Board receives appropriate guidance regarding activities, governance arrangements and the use of charitable funds in Kenya.

All trustees share collective responsibility for the governance and management of the charity. This role provides leadership and expertise in governance, risk and compliance matters on behalf of the Board.
