Help shape the future of mental health support across Yorkshire and beyond.
Could this be the right time to explore a trustee role in mental health?
Northpoint is a Yorkshire-based mental health charity supporting children, young people and adults across our region and beyond. As we continue to grow and evolve, particularly through innovation and digital development, we are looking to appoint a small number of new Trustees to join our Board to complement the skills, perspectives and experience already in place.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future direction of a growing charity and make a meaningful difference to the communities we serve.
Why join our Board?
Our Trustee roles are voluntary and designed to be manageable alongside other commitments. We place a strong emphasis on:
- supportive induction and ongoing development
- accessible meetings (in terms of timing, language and format)
- a Board culture that is collaborative, respectful and open to challenge
- valuing lived experience and community knowledge as strategic insight, rather than token representation
What we're looking for?
We are seeking new trustees to join our board. We’re particularly keen to connect with those who bring strong community insight, lived experience, and a value led approach to leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
