This is an excellent opportunity to be actively involved in supporting and overseeing the growth of our young and dynamic charity, and to contribute at Board level to the strategic direction, development and decisions of the organisation.
What difference will you make?
Dacorum Dance started in 2018 as a community oriented dance association committed to enhancing physical activity, addressing social isolation, and promoting mental wellbeing through accessible and affordable dance programmes.
We were operating as a not-for-profit incorporated association but have recently registered as a CIO, due to our growth and success. As part of this transition to a CIO, we are rebranding and renaming the charity to incorporate other arts and creative activities and projects - it is a very exciting time for us.
We are in need of Trustees who can work hands-on to help the charity grow and particularly to help with developing our digital infrastructure and with marketing, comms, PR and fundraising. We are a small but dynamic charity still in our infancy and need active support to push forward with all the exciting opportunities that lie ahead of us and to help build a strong and sustainable future.

We must be compliant with charity law and collectively, it is the role of the Board of Trustees to ensure this happens and oversee the general strategic direction, development and financial stability of Dacorum Dance.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in candidates with professional backgrounds in one of the following areas; digital transformation and development, marketing & PR, fundraising, communities, finance, governance, and charity experience, and who have considerable experience of senior management.

We are looking for a passionate and positive person who is keen to make a difference. We want hands-on Trustees who have the time and energy required to contribute meaningfully to the development of the organisation. This includes a hands-on approach to governance and strategic support to actively make a difference. It is a very exciting time of growth and development for our charity that has recently registered as a CIO.
Trustees are required to commit to a minimum term of 3 years, and to attend Board Meetings up to 4 times a year. Trustees will also have the opportunity to assist with strategy discussions, fundraising, press opportunities, one-to-one support, project visits, project celebration events and other activities on an ad-hoc basis.
