Do you care about housing and homelessness in Greater Manchester? Are you keen to give back, apply or build your expertise for a developing local charity? Emmaus South Manchester is recruiting for two new Trustees with specific skills and experience to help us achieve our goal.
What difference will you make?
Our new trustees will provide strategic expertise at an exciting time for our charity. Emmaus South Manchester's next stage of development will involve fundraising and partnerships to secure a site, develop and progress the building, and launch our residential community home.
We already have the foundations of dedicated trustees, staff members and volunteers, and a thriving social enterprise that is helping to generate our start-up funds.
Our next step is to establish a residential community that will provide a home and life-changing support to people who experience homelessness. The Emmaus model is proven in supporting those affected by homelessness, to help themselves and to help other people in the communities in which they are based. The model flexes to local need, responding to specific challenges in different geographical areas and delivering innovative solutions to poverty and social exclusion.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking two new trustees with the following skills, expertise and experience:
- Fundraising
- Someone with proven experience in fundraising, through bid-writing, grants, foundations or major donors.
- Building
- Someone who has knowledge and experience in property development or project management.

What will you be doing?
We are seeking two new trustees with skills, expertise and experience covering finance, fundraising and property development or project management.
All Emmaus South Manchester trustees share the same governance and legal responsibilities, working together and making decisions to drive the charity forward. The role involves working collaboratively with fellow trustees, networking, attendance and contribution at trustee meetings, professional advice and support, and identifying practical ideas to overcome challenges.
If you are enthused by teamwork, partnerships, fundraising campaigns, reviewing architect’s plans and ultimately seeing shovels in the ground, this is the perfect time for you to join Emmaus South Manchester.
