We're seeking hands-on trustees to join our dynamic £200K loneliness charity as we continue our upwards growth trajectory.

What difference will you make?

Through bringing your community knowledge and professional skills to the table, you’ll enable Globe Community Project to transform the lives of hundreds of people each year. When you read amazing stories of change, or quotes expressing delight, progress and discovery, and see photos of people connecting across divides and sharing their lives, you won’t just feel touched. You’ll know ‘I helped this happen.’

What are we looking for?

As we continue to grow, we are looking for trustees with experience in HR, Risk and Fundraising. We would also particularly welcome trustees with knowledge of the local Bangladeshi community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What will you be doing?

As a GCP trustee, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our strategy, ensuring good governance, and supporting our small but dedicated team. We’ve been on an upward growth trajectory for the past 6 years, reaching out to more and more lonely people and isolated communities. As we approach the end of our current strategy, there’s plenty of scope to shape our vision for the next 5 years.

Our board works closely with the charity's Director/CEO, and is a friendly group who recognise that getting to know each other supports effective shared working. We have a few sub-committees directing various areas of the charity's work, including Finance, Risk, HR, and potentially Strategy, with sub-committee meetings happening quarterly or biannually ahead of board meetings.

We'd like to expand and diversify our board, because we’ve found this makes for the best conversations and decisions, and enables us to best serve our local communities.
