Help a growing energy education charity bring financial rigour to how we manage and grow our impact.

What difference will you make?

As Treasurer, you'll give a young charity trusted financial stewardship at exactly the moment it matters most. We're converting from a CIC to a CIO and scaling from 30 to 50+ schools this year alone, with international growth already underway in France and Poland. The increase in funders and grant applications depend on us being able to demonstrate strong financial governance. Currently, that responsibility sits with the founder with no formal financial qualifications.

Your oversight of our reporting, risk management and financial controls will directly determine how much funding we can secure and how confidently we can grow. That means more free workshops reaching more students, more teachers trained to bring energy and climate topics into their classrooms, and a stronger case to the funders and energy partners who make this all possible.

What are we looking for?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're looking for someone who has held a senior financial role in a charity or not-for-profit, and who brings a strong understanding of charity financing and risk management. You'll be the board's main safeguard on financial health as we convert to a CIO and scale up. As a small organisation, you also need to be comfortable with the the ambiguity of a young organisation still building its systems. Experience with tenders or philanthropic fundraising is a strong plus as we look to diversify our income, but it isn't essential if your financial governance experience is solid.

As a founding board member, you'll also be helping shape Curieus Games' governance and culture from scratch. We are looking for someone with sound judgement, a collaborative style, and genuinely motivated by the mission of getting more young people into the energy transition.

We especially welcome applicants from backgrounds and lived experiences currently under-represented on charity boards and in the energy and education sectors.

What will you be doing?

Curieus Games is converting from a Community Interest Company into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). As a charity, we will have access to more sources of funding, giving us an opportunity to grow our impact by reaching more schools and developing more resources to teach about the energy transition.

To lead that next chapter, we're building a founding board of trustees to govern the charity into the next phase of our journey and build on the success we’ve had so far.

The role

As Treasurer, you'll be the person who makes sure the charity grows on solid financial footing — guiding our reporting, risk management and financial strategy as we scale from 30 schools to hundreds. You'll bring:

  • Experience in a senior financial role in a charity, not-for-profit or business
  • A strong understanding of charity financing, reporting and risk management
  • Experience with grants, tenders or philanthropic fundraising is welcome, though not essential
