We are seeking a new trustee to join the board of our grant making charity.
Previous trustee or governance experience is not essential but we would welcome marketing, social media or IT expertise.
What difference will you make?
We do not employ staff or volunteers, so all the duties associated with running the charity are undertaken by the trustees themselves. Depending on your knowledge, skills and interest, you could get involved with assessing applications for grants, help ensure our website is secure and fit for purpose or help raise our profile to drive applications and increase grant making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What are we looking for?
We would welcome applications from those who either are already a pensioner, have experience of living on a low income, are an individual to whom we have made a grant in the past (or such grantee’s carer or family member), may have a physical or less visible disability, or are members of ethnic communities.
What will you be doing?
As a trustee, you will make an active contribution to the running of this small, volunteer-managed charity which provides support, in the form of small, one-off grants, to retired staff, or their dependents, of the NatWest Group of companies.

Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
During your term of office, it is likely you will be asked to undertake high level desktop research, lead on specific topics or collaborate with another trustee on ad hoc matters. We are entirely independent of the NatWest Group, which allows us autonomy in how we operate but does mean that we have to work hard to make sure that pensioners know that we exist. For this reason, we would welcome marketing, social media or communications expertise.
