Join Ignite Hubs as a Trustee

Help transform lives through education. Use your organisational and relationship-building skills to strengthen our Board, connect people, and develop partnerships that create opportunities for children and young people.

What difference will you make?

Play a vital role in helping Ignite Hubs deliver high-quality, inclusive education to children and young people who need it most. We work particularly with girls, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and those from underrepresented backgrounds. Your contribution directly supports educational equity and helps young people develop skills critical to future learning and opportunities.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate people, information, and agreed actions.
  • Good judgement and an interest in developing your understanding of charity governance.
  • The ability to think strategically, identify priorities, and translate ideas into practical, proportionate action.

Experience in the charity sector or supporting a Board would be a bonus. Previous trustee experience is welcome but is not essential.

Time Commitment and Support

The anticipated ongoing commitment is around 4–6 hours per month. You may need additional time in the first couple of months to get to know the organisation, understand its priorities, and meet fellow trustees and relevant team members.

You will receive an induction, access to the Trustee Handbook and relevant organisational information, and introductions to fellow trustees and team members.

Remote

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a proactive professional to join our Board of Trustees. This leadership role suits a collaborative self-starter who enjoys bringing people together, creating structure, and taking ownership of progressing agreed priorities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We would particularly welcome someone with experience as an executive assistant or PA, or in event management, community building, partnership development, or a similar coordination role. You may already have experience in the charity sector or be interested in applying your skills to support a growing education charity.

You will help the Board stay organised, connected, and effective. This includes coordinating meetings and information, supporting follow-through on agreed actions, and helping strengthen our governance processes.

You will also help identify relevant organisations and businesses and develop relationships with them, working alongside the CEO and fellow trustees to create opportunities for collaboration, funding, and wider support.

As a small and developing charity, we are looking for someone who will contribute actively between meetings, combining participation in Board decisions with practical, hands-on support within the agreed time commitment.

What You Will Be Doing

Governance and Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the effective governance of Ignite Hubs, ensuring the charity remains focused on its mission, charitable objectives, and the interests of its beneficiaries.
  • Help shape organisational priorities and identify practical ways to strengthen how the Board operates.
  • Provide constructive support and challenge to the CEO and fellow trustees, sharing responsibility for financial oversight, risk management, and accountability.
