Community Futures
Community Futures is the Rural Community Council for Lancashire, an established rural community development and early years charity. We're seeking a Trustee to bring strong financial governance and strategic oversight to our board.
What difference will you make?
The purpose of the charity, as stated in the governing document, is to 'Promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the communities in the County of Lancashire and elsewhere (hereinafter called the area of benefit) primarily but not exclusively by the advancement of education, research, development and training, the protection and enhancement of the environment, the preservation of good health, the relief of sickness and relief of those in necessitous circumstances.'
As a trustee with finance expertise, you can help ensure our board can oversee compliance with charity accounting and regulatory requirements. You can help us to be clear with where we are, where we're going and, crucially, what we need to get there/how we can get there.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
