We're seeking new trustees with experience in Family Support Delivery / Safeguarding / Community Engagement / Income Generation / Finance / Leadership to help safeguard the future of our child bereavement charity.
What difference will you make?
As a trustee you will help ensure that FiG is well-led, legally compliant, financially sustainable, and focused on its charitable purpose. Last year, we supported over 300 individuals across northern Devon, and demand for our services is increasing. With your help, we can continue to provide vital support to families when they need us the most.
What are we looking for?
We want to build a diverse, passionate board drawn from a wide array of backgrounds, with a healthy mix of skills, identities, perspectives, and lived experience. We will provide a full induction and you will be allocated a ‘buddy’ from within the team to support you as you settle into your role. We are interested in people who care about FiG’s purpose and are ready to learn and share responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
