About MAP
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. For more than 40 years, we have been delivering essential health and medical care to those most affected by conflict, displacement and occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Lebanon.
We are now responding to the largest emergency in our history. Over the last two years, tens of thousands of new supporters have joined MAP. We work to raise Palestinian voices and help secure their rights to health and dignity.
About the role
MAP is seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Trusts and Foundations Officer to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships Team. You will manage and grow a portfolio of trusts and foundations, focusing on donors giving up to £50,000 per year. You will identify and cultivate new prospects, develop compelling proposals and reports, and provide thoughtful stewardship to help grow sustainable income for MAP.
This role requires a minimum of two days per week in our London office. This is important because the position is donor-facing and involves close collaboration with colleagues across Fundraising, Finance, Communications, Programmes, Prospect Research and MEAL teams. MAP has a flexible working policy to support employees with additional needs and caring responsibilities; however, this role cannot be undertaken on a fully remote basis.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of trusts and foundations, securing income from existing and prospective donors giving up to £50,000 per year.
- Identify new funding opportunities beyond MAP’s existing networks and prepare applications as suitable opportunities arise.
- Develop tailored proposals, situation reports, impact reports and stewardship plans, while strengthening MAP’s knowledge of its supporters.
- Work with the Prospect Researcher to identify, research and cultivate a strong pipeline of trusts and foundations prospects.
- Develop cultivation tools and monitor progress against agreed key performance indicators.
- Support the wider Philanthropy and Partnerships Team with online and in-person events, portfolio analysis and income forecasting.

About you
You will bring experience of trusts and foundations and/or philanthropic fundraising, together with strong research, writing and relationship-building skills. You will be proactive, organised and confident managing several priorities at once, with the judgement to handle sensitive information with tact and integrity.
- Experience of writing and presenting persuasive cases for support, letters and reports.
- Experience of researching, collating and communicating information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication, proofreading and copywriting skills.
- Experience of using a database to support prospect research and targeting.
- The ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
- A commitment to MAP’s values of Solidarity, Dignity, Impact and Integrity, equal opportunities and safeguarding.
Experience of securing five-figure gifts from UK-based or overseas major donors and/or trusts, and an understanding of humanitarian and development issues, would be an advantage.
