Trusts and Foundations Officer

Compensation: £29,000 - £33,000 / month

Description

The Trusts and Foundations Officer is responsible for securing and growing income from charitable trusts and foundations through the development of compelling funding applications, effective stewardship, and high-quality reporting.

The role would suit a dynamic fundraiser looking to develop their skills and knowledge within an established and ambitious charity.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Apply to a range of trusts, foundations, and grant-giving bodies who have the potential to give up to five figure annual grants.
  • Develop and manage communications with a portfolio of existing supporters with a clear objective to renew support.
  • Liaise with operational colleagues to identify projects and priorities for funding, and in consultation with the Senior Trusts & Foundations Manager, develop them into compelling projects for funders.
  • Liaise with the Operations and Finance & Resources team to develop robust budgets for funding applications.
  • Develop strong relationships with trusts and foundations.
  • Work with the Operations team and Impact and Evaluation team to prepare reports as required by funders.
  • Work with the Impact and Evaluation team to gather impact data and evidence from Chance to Shine programmes to strengthen funding applications and reports.
  • Work with the Communications & Marketing team to gather stories from Chance to Shine programmes to support funder communications and applications.
  • Assist with other fundraising tasks as required.

Research & Data

  • Research and identify prospective foundations to approach for funding.
  • Support with briefing senior contacts for meetings and events as needed.
  • Maintain effective records of key activities and contacts on Raiser's Edge.
  • Regularly update funding pipeline data and report on progress to senior managers as required.

Other

  • Be a representative for the charity at networking events where required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Experience Required

  • Demonstrable experience in a fundraising role and/or securing grants from charitable trusts and foundations.
  • Demonstrable experience of writing engaging fundraising proposals/reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working on Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM system.
