About The Freeths Private Client Services Team

The Freeths PCS team is 50 strong and spread nationally across our 12 offices. For 15 consecutive years Freeths’ Trusts, Estates and Tax (TET) lawyers have secured a Tier 1 ranking in the UK’s leading legal directory, Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide. The East Midlands TET team is led by Partner, Rahul Kotecha, and supported by Director, Marie Cooper, who are both based in our Nottingham office.

About The Role

We are looking for two ambitious trainee legal executives to join our growing TET team, with one opportunity based in Nottingham and one in Birmingham. This is an excellent long-term development opportunity for individuals who want to build a legal career, gain hands-on experience and progress towards qualification while contributing to a busy and supportive team.

As a trainee legal executive, you will provide valuable junior support to colleagues across the team while gradually developing fee-earning capability. Working closely with experienced lawyers, you will build practical knowledge and take on increasing responsibility as skills and confidence grow. The Nottingham role will primarily support colleagues based in Nottingham, whilst the Birmingham role will support colleagues across Birmingham and Nottingham.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
