You will help The Fursa Trust secure vital funding to support children living in extreme poverty in Kenya.
Your main focus will be writing clear, compelling and tailored funding applications to trusts and foundations.

You will ideally have:
- Strong writing and communication skills – able to turn information into clear, persuasive and funder-focused applications
- Good research skills – able to understand funder priorities and identify the most relevant opportunities
- Attention to detail – able to follow guidance and eligibility criteria carefully
- Strong organisational skills – able to manage deadlines and keep applications on track
- Some charity experience – with an understanding of how charities communicate need, outcomes and impact
- A commitment to our cause – and an interest in creating opportunities for children and communities facing poverty
Previous experience of grant writing, trusts and foundations fundraising, bid writing or fundraising copywriting would be particularly welcome.
The most important qualities are reliability, accuracy, clear communication and the ability to write in a persuasive but honest way.

What will you be doing?
Key tasks may include
- researching suitable trusts, foundations and funding opportunities
- checking funder guidance and eligibility criteria
- helping match our programmes and funding needs to suitable funders
- drafting and editing grant applications
- writing clear project descriptions, outcomes and impact sections
- adapting applications to reflect each funder’s interests and priorities
- using our existing case for support, case studies, programme information and impact data to build strong proposals
- helping create reusable funding copy and templates
- keeping a simple tracker of applications, deadlines and outcomes
You will work closely with our Fundraising Trustee and wider team, who will provide the information and resources you need. Applications will be reviewed and approved before submission.
