Build the world's best cyber training rooms. Get paid. Get credited.

TryHackMe is looking for security practitioners to build hands-on rooms trained on by 8 million+ learners across companies, universities and military teams worldwide. You bring the expertise. We give you the tools, a scoped brief and a dedicated point of contact, and your work goes live in front of millions with your name on it.

This is a paid, fully remote, fully async contract opportunity. You work on your own schedule, to a clear brief, over a two to four week window per room.

What You'll Build

A room is a self-contained, hands-on lab. Learners read your tasks, attack or defend a live environment you design, and submit flags to prove they did it for real. You write the whole experience: the tasks, the flags, the hints, the walkthrough and the scenario behind the lab we host for you. No infrastructure to run yourself, just your knowledge turned into something people learn from.

Where we're building

We build across ten streams, from beginner foundations to senior, enterprise-grade depth: Foundations, Red Team, Blue Team, AI Security, Cloud, Product Security, OT/ICS, Security Engineering, GRC and Leadership. Tell us your strongest area when you apply and we will match you to what is live. If you have a strong idea that fits our roadmap, you can pitch your own.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You Get

  • A fixed fee per room, agreed in writing before you start. Fees typically run $500 to $2,000 USD, scaled to complexity. No hourly tracking and no surprises.
  • Permanent credit: your handle and avatar stay on every room you build.
  • A public, portfolio-ready creator profile of your rooms, completions and ratings.
  • First pick on new topics in your area as you build a track record with us.

Who we're looking for

Security practitioners, CTF authors, pentesters, researchers and educators.

  • People who know their topic inside out and can teach it clearly.
  • Builders who have played or made CTF challenges and understand what makes them click.
  • No degree or specific certification required. We look at your work, not your CV.

How it works

Pick a stream and apply. We review your application, and if your background fits an open stream we reach out for a short screening conversation, then a briefing if it is a match. You build async to the brief, your room ships, and your fee is released against an invoice on standard contractor terms.

A note on the application

It is short on purpose. You will record a quick two minute intro video (this is required, and it helps us get to know you and how you explain things), share a few links that show your work, and tell us the areas you want to build in. Everything you share strengthens your application. You would be engaged as an independent contractor, with agreement and scope confirmed before any paid work begins.
