Employment Status: Term-time

Hourly Rate: Services Staff Level 1 - $31.20

About Us

The Cathedral College is a Catholic, co-educational, Secondary, Boarding College with Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton. The College aims to deliver a holistic Catholic Education where academic excellence goes hand in hand with spiritual, emotional, physical, cultural, and social development.

The College is built in the shadow of St Joseph’s Cathedral and welcomes 186 Boarders from across Central Queensland and beyond enriching the College community. 1360 students are enrolled and all are invited to respond to Jesus Christ’s message to ‘come live life in all its fullness’.

Your Role

The Cathedral College is currently seeking a Tuckshop Assistant to join their team. This is a term-time continuing position for 30 hpw, commencing Term 4, 2026 (6th October 2026).

Typical Duties Include

  • Ordering stock from approved, reliable suppliers and organizing food prepared and sold.
  • Receiving and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
  • Handling money and correct balancing of the same, counting the daily takings, and ensuring that daily takings are delivered to the Finance Assistant for banking.
  • Following workplace Health and Safety procedures in relation to the preparation of food and the cleanliness/hygiene of the tuckshop.
  • Daily cleaning/tidying of the Tuckshop area.
  • Ensuring all stock is stored in a tidy and clean manner.
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer service and hygiene is maintained.

About You

The successful applicant will have an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills. A Food Safety Certificate would be advantageous.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and a valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
