Position Overview
Fuse Capital Group is building a new Restructuring service line alongside its established Debt Advisory and M&A practices. We're looking for an experienced restructuring and turnaround professional to lead origination for this new offering and shape it from the ground up. This role suits a self-starter who builds relationships and turns them into mandates. You'll work directly with the CEO to define the service line's positioning and go-to-market approach, with origination as your primary focus from day one. Fuse's existing analysts, financial modellers and Associate Directors already have capacity to execute the mandates you bring in, so you won't be building a delivery team from scratch alongside the origination motion.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Origination & Business Development (75%)
- Build and own a network of introducers, insolvency practitioners, turnaround investors, lenders, private equity sponsors and non-executive directors who see distressed and stressed situations first
- Identify and originate restructuring mandates across Fuse's target market: businesses with 50 to 250 employees and £5m to £50m revenue
- Represent Fuse Capital at industry events, conferences and professional forums to build market visibility as a restructuring specialist
- Lead pitch preparation and proposal development for prospective mandates, working with the wider team on positioning and commercial terms
- Develop and run a go-to-market strategy for the Restructuring service line together with the CEO
- Convert relationships into repeat referral sources and build a consistent, qualified pipeline

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Restructuring Delivery Oversight (25%)
- Oversee delivery quality on won engagements, directing Fuse's existing analysts, financial modellers and Associate Directors, and bringing in a restructuring partner or referral arrangement for statutory or complex insolvency work
- Advise clients on turnaround options, financial restructuring, refinancing and stakeholder negotiations at the origination and scoping stage
- Shape how the existing delivery bench plugs into restructuring mandates, and help build further capacity only as mandate volume requires it
- Set and maintain commercial terms on new mandates so case economics are right from origination
Core Competencies
- 10+ years' experience in restructuring, turnaround or insolvency advisory, combining professional services or boutique advisory background with a demonstrable personal network
- A track record of originating and winning restructuring, insolvency or turnaround mandates independently
- A confident, credible communicator who builds trust quickly with business owners, lenders and professional introducers
- Comfortable working with autonomy in a small, entrepreneurial team and building a new function rather than joining an established one
- Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills, able to manage several relationships and pipeline opportunities at once
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Accounting or insolvency qualification desirable (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent)
- Insolvency Practitioner licence beneficial but not essential
- Established network within the UK restructuring, insolvency and turnaround community

Company Overview
Fuse Capital Group is a boutique investment advisory firm built for the lower mid-market, the deal size the Big Four don't serve profitably. Over 13+ years the firm has advised 600+ businesses and built a network of 1,500+ capital partners globally, across debt advisory, M&A and now restructuring. Fuse works with businesses of 50 to 250 employees and £5m to £50m revenue across the UK, Europe, India and Southeast Asia, pairing institutional-quality advice with the speed and focus of a boutique firm.
Why Join Fuse Capital Group
- Build something from scratch: You'll shape a brand-new origination motion for Restructuring from day one. Delivery capacity already exists across Fuse's analysts, financial modellers and Associate Directors, so your network and pipeline convert straight into revenue rather than getting stuck behind a hiring plan.
- A multi-disciplinary practice: Restructuring sits alongside Fuse's established Debt Advisory and M&A teams, not on its own. You'll work with colleagues across all three disciplines, drawing on their client relationships and referring into theirs, rather than operating in a silo.
- Direct access and impact: You'll work alongside Fuse Capital's CEO and leadership team, with a direct line into strategic decisions rather than layers of sign-off.
- An entrepreneurial culture: Fuse Capital runs at over 30 people. That's an advantage: you'll see the impact of your work quickly and help set the standard for how the Restructuring team operates as it grows.
