Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 depending on experience
Reporting to: Cell Manager / Manufacturing Manager

Purpose
To machine precision components on lathes to drawing, producing quality parts efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC (depending on capability).
  • CNC programming experience or willingness to learn.
  • Select tooling and workholding, set offsets, and prove programmes where required.
  • Achieve tolerance and surface finish requirements in line with specification.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspection and record results as required.
  • Complete job paperwork and maintain traceability via travellers / job packs.
  • Raise and support resolution of non-conformances and rework actions.
  • Maintain machine condition through routine checks and good housekeeping.
  • Contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential experience and skills

  • Turning experience within precision engineering.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Good understanding of tooling, workholding, and cutting parameters.
  • Strong focus on right-first-time output and safe working.

  • Experience machining a range of materials, including steels and aluminium alloys.
  • Confidence supporting programme prove-out and optimisation.

Please note that this is a shift-based role, alternating between Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm and Monday to Thursday 2pm until 12am.
