Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for a Tutor supporting GCSE and A-level students. The tutor will plan and deliver engaging lessons in subjects such as Maths, English, Science, and Modern Languages, aligned with current exam board specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assessing student performance
- Identifying learning gaps
- Providing targeted support through individual or small group sessions
The tutor will prepare tailored notes, practice questions, and exam-focused revision materials, while tracking progress and communicating regularly with students and, where appropriate, their parents or caregivers. The role also involves:
- Using modern teaching tools
- Maintaining an encouraging learning environment
- Collaborating with colleagues to uphold Prime Tuition’s standards of academic excellence
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE and A-level Maths, English, Science, and/or Modern Languages, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching school-age learners, particularly within UK curricula and exam board requirements (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
- Ability to design structured lesson plans, differentiated resources, and exam preparation strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with a supportive and inclusive approach to diverse learners.
- Strong organisational skills, including time management, record-keeping, and consistent progress monitoring.
- Comfort with using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area or education-related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is an advantage.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare, with willingness to undergo enhanced background checks (e.g., DBS).
