The role provides dedicated twilight and night cover during the winter months, supporting the organisation through periods of increased demand and operational pressure.

To provide senior clinical operational site management cover during twilight and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on internal rotational basis.
To co-ordinate the hospital site on a shift-by-shift basis ensuring the delivery & achievement of SAFER Nursing Care Quality Standards.
To advise and lead Patient Flow Managers to plan & deliver patient flow and capacity management.
To proactively manage patient flow to ensure achievement of elective and emergency work streams, inter-hospital repatriations, internal transfers and discharges across the Trust.
To take prompt corrective action and/or escalate any patient flow or clinical site issues, that may impact business continuity, in accordance with trust bed management & escalation policies and full capacity protocol.
To demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills to support appropriate, safe patient placement.
To recognise high risk, complex clinical situations regarding patient care and prioritise promptly the actions needed for the safety and well-being of patients.
To work collaboratively with multi-professional teams across the Trust to proactively facilitate the safe transfer of patients from Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care, Day Units, Intensive Care, Theatres and all inpatient wards.
