Primary Objective
In broad terms, the major purpose of this role is to: Set up, operate, and tend to many machines organized into a frame that twist yarn together.
Major Functions & Scope
Using brief narrative statements, key duties include:
- Creel and Load
- Creel single or double ply yarn packages and load yarn into the twister.
- Maintain Equipment
- Reposition buggies of yarn at twisters and stage tubes for winder operation.
- Operate Production
- Thread ends of single yarns, operate the spindle, and repair breakouts during production runs.
- Doffing & Transfer
- Doff twisted yarn packages and transfer them from the conveyor to a buggy/container.
- Monitor Operations
- Monitor production output and machine equipment for safe and efficient operation.
- Maintenance Checks
- Clean and dechoke spindles to maintain machine efficiency and meet production requirements.
- Quality Assurance
- Perform quality checks using black lights to inspect yarn.
- Compliance & Training
- Attend any job-related training as deemed necessary by supervision.
- Follow all established standard operating procedures, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Housekeeping & Other Tasks
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Fulfill any additional tasks assigned by management.

Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Successful completion of all required on-the-job training.
- Successful completion of all health and environmental safety training.
- Previous Yarn or Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Operate in a team-based environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem-solving in standardized situations.
- Ability to read spec sheets or product information.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- May require bending, squatting, and climbing for long periods.
- Must lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Work involved with moving equipment, and an industrial environment.
- Exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, fumes, variable temperatures, and moving machinery.
