Company Description
North Devon Tyres Ltd is an independent, family-run tyre specialist established in 1983, with branches across Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall. We provide tyre services for retail, agricultural, and commercial customers, both in-depot and through our mobile service. Our team works in a practical, customer-focused environment where safety, technical accuracy, and service standards are central to everything we do. As we continue to expand, we are opening a new depot in Chard and are seeking a strong leader to oversee its successful launch and ongoing performance.
Role Description
The Branch Manager is a full-time, on-site role responsible for the day-to-day management, performance, and smooth running of our new Chard Depot. You will lead a team of tyre technicians and depot staff, ensuring all workshop operations, mobile service activities, customer interactions, and safety procedures are carried out to the highest standard.
This role involves overseeing workload planning, stock control, equipment maintenance, customer service, sales performance, and compliance. You will work closely with senior management to implement company policies, maintain operational efficiency, and support the long-term growth of the depot.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
