Role Description
The Tyre Fitter role is a full-time, on-site position located in England, United Kingdom. The Tyre Fitter is responsible for fitting, removing, and repairing tyres on a variety of vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Safely lifting vehicles
- Removing wheels
- Inspecting tyres for wear or damage
- Mounting and balancing new tyres
- Ensuring correct tyre pressures

The Tyre Fitter works as part of a team to deliver prompt, reliable service and may assist with stock handling and basic administrative tasks related to tyre orders and fittings.
Qualifications
- Practical experience in tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and puncture repairs, ideally in a retail or automotive workshop environment.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures, including correct lifting techniques and use of workshop tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, diagnose common tyre issues, and apply manufacturer guidelines for tyre sizes and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safe working practices, accurate completion of tasks, and consistent quality of workmanship.
- Good customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain work clearly and interact professionally with a diverse range of customers.
- Capacity to work effectively in a physically demanding role, including regular lifting, standing, and working with tools and machinery.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, including occasional peak-time pressures.
- Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills to manage tyre measurements, pressures, and simple documentation related to jobs completed.
- Previous experience in automotive service or a related field is beneficial; relevant vocational training or certifications in vehicle maintenance or tyre fitting are an advantage.
- A valid driving licence is desirable to assist with vehicle movement within the premises and, where required, customer vehicles.
