UAS Technician Bristol (primarily on-site + regular field work)

We’re looking for a hands-on UAS Technician to build, integrate and fly high-performance unmanned systems on a cutting-edge autonomy programme.
You’ll work side-by-side with engineers delivering prototype and development aircraft, while helping set the standards, processes and workshop discipline needed for production. Fixed-wing flight test is a core part of the role, you’ll prepare aircraft, fly them when required, troubleshoot in the field and keep everything airworthy.

What you’ll do
- Build, modify and repair complex UAS platforms to a high standard
- Carry out electrical assembly (soldering, crimping, harnesses) and precision mechanical fitting
- Support and fly fixed-wing test sorties, including pre- and post-flight checks and in-field repairs
- Keep the workshop organised, manage tools, spares and BOMs
- Produce fixtures and parts on the 3D printer and improve build documentation
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Hands-on experience building or integrating UAS / RC platforms
- Confident fixed-wing pilot with safe flying judgement
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent soldering, harnessing and mechanical fitting skills
- Practical 3D-printing ability
- Comfortable working on-site in Bristol and travelling for demos when needed
- Quality-first mindset and attention to detail

Desirable
- GVC (or willingness to get it)
- VTOL experience
- PX4 / ArduPilot knowledge
- RF systems and composite skills
- Experience creating jigs and working to controlled processes
