TITLE: Software Development Internship

OPPORTUNITY:
The Engineering function, which comprises of a wide range of skill sets, is a high performing team and a critical part of the continued success of Druid’s strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of software engineers and to gain experience by contributing to the development and delivery of mobile network software. The successful candidate will assist software engineers to develop and deliver solutions across multiple platforms as we move into new geographies and new markets.

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week.

SALARY: €29,432 per annum pro rata (2026 Min Wage Rate)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with the Development team on several programming languages, which may include Python and C, in a Linux environment
  • Technologies include network programming, VoIP, understanding of real-time systems and multi-threading.
  • Working with the Software Engineers to develop, implement, test and support solutions.
  • Developing project management skills and methodologies to assist team in ensuring timely, effective and cost-efficient systems delivery and associated maintenance.
  • The intern will perform other duties as appropriate to a trainee, which may be assigned to him/her from time to time, and to contribute to their development during the internship.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Knowledge of & interest in C, C++, Python, Linux, network programming, VoIP, understanding of real-time systems, multi-threading, Kubernetes, cloud environments, OpenShift, Grafana, Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of software design processes and software testing principles
