UI Designer

Full-time | Hybrid (London – 3 days per week)

About the Role

Are you passionate about creating intuitive, impactful digital experiences? Looking for your first or second role in UI Design?

Wex is looking for an enthusiastic and creative UI Designer to join our growing digital Product and Platform team. Reporting to the Senior UX Designer, you'll help bring digital experiences to life through engaging user interfaces, polished visual design and consistent application of our design system.

Working alongside UX and Front-End Development, you'll contribute to the design of new features, landing pages, customer journeys and ecommerce experiences that make it easier for customers to discover, research and buy.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their design career who wants to learn from experienced professionals, build a strong portfolio and develop their skills within a well-established, fast-moving ecommerce business. As our first dedicated UI hire, you'll also have the chance to shape the UI for one of the UK's leading retailers.

Purpose

The UI Designer supports the delivery of engaging, intuitive and accessible digital experiences across the Wex website.

Working within the digital Product team and supported by the Senior UX Designer, you'll transform UX concepts into polished user interfaces that are visually consistent, customer-focused and aligned with the Wex brand.

You'll contribute to the evolution of our design system, support experimentation and help deliver continuous improvements that enhance customer experience and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

User Interface Design

  • Design engaging user interfaces for the Wex website and digital products.
  • Produce high-quality mock-ups, layouts and interface components using Figma.
  • Translate wireframes and UX concepts into polished visual designs.
  • Ensure interfaces are consistent, accessible and easy to use.

Design System

  • Support the development and maintenance of the Wex design system.
  • Create reusable UI components and templates that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure all new designs align with established visual standards and interaction patterns.
  • Work closely with Front-End Development to ensure designs are implemented accurately.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
