About The Role
We are seeking an experienced UI Developer to join our Customer Due Diligence (CDD) technology team within Group Economic Crime at Barclays. This role is integral to our efforts in building and maintaining our new CDD platform, which enhances our ability to detect and prevent financial crime effectively. As a UI Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to design, develop, and implement user interfaces that deliver an outstanding user experience. Your work will directly contribute to the development of our next-generation CDD platform, ensuring it is scalable, responsive, and aligned with our strategic objectives. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a global feature squad, involved in both the migration of existing functionalities and the creation of innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in front-end development, particularly with React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and HTML5. A solid understanding of React Hooks, component lifecycle, and state management tools such as Redux or Context API is essential. Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, integrating front-end applications with backend services, and knowledge of Micro Frontend Architecture are highly valued. Familiarity with Git, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like ELK and App Dynamics is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to learning industry trends and a commitment to code quality, security, and performance optimization. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team are also important.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing high-quality, scalable software solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define specifications, devise technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices to maintain a culture of technical excellence.
- Adhering to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Implementing unit tests to ensure code reliability.
- Staying current with technological advancements to continually improve our platforms.
- Contributing to the migration of legacy functionalities to the new platform, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
- Working within an Agile environment, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to deliver timely and effective solutions.
