Department: Technology

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: London, UK

Reporting To: Director of Experience Design

Description

This role at Veriforce owns the product design of our new Carbon Hub platform end to end — from ideation through to the interfaces users actually work in. You will conceive the user experiences, exploring concepts, testing them with real users where appropriate, and iterating until the solution is right. You will also be responsible for leveraging the Veriforce Design System, adding new components where appropriate and ensuring it is applied consistently across the platform.

You are a product designer who thinks in systems and user outcomes, with a strong sense of craft and interaction detail. You are comfortable running research and usability sessions, and comfortable in Figma shaping the details of what ships. If you can also build in a code editor, so much the better. If you’re unable to do so right now, you must be keen to learn.

This role will report to the Director of UI/UX design with a dotted line to the Senior Product Manager, Platform. For the foreseeable future your day to day will be part of the Carbon Product Team led by the Senior Product Director for Sustainability Products. Their remit spans PlanetMark and the SafePlanet suite of products. In due course you will likely work on other UK products too.

At Veriforce, we help companies in high-risk industries keep their people, worksites, and supply chains safe and compliant. As a global leader in contractor and supply chain risk management, our SaaS platform simplifies contractor onboarding, credentialing, and compliance while providing powerful analytics and insights. Beyond software, we offer expert support, training, and consulting so our clients can operate with confidence.

Together, we’re making workplaces safer every day.

What that means day to day

  • Own the product design of the Carbon Hub platform end to end, from ideation through to shipped experience.
  • Collaborate with product managers to define the user or business problem we’re trying to solve
  • Collaborate with the Voice of the Customer team to run the right amount of product discovery — user interviews, stakeholder workshops, competitor and workflow analysis — to explore problems before designing solutions. We will be moving at pace, so we will ship low risk solutions with no user testing and minimal discovery. For high-risk solutions or core user journeys we will proactively leverage product discovery and seek market feedback.
  • Conceive and explore user experiences: concepts, user flows, information architecture, and interaction models.
  • Plan and run usability testing and other validation, and iterate designs based on what you learn.
  • Define and evolve the platform's design principles, patterns, and end-to-end user journeys.
  • Build and maintain reusable components and design tokens in the Veriforce Design System using modern front-end technologies.
  • Take your own designs through high-fidelity, accessible, and performant production interfaces, in code where appropriate.
  • Lead ideation with product, engineering, and design peers, prototyping interactions, motion, and complex states to test ideas quickly.
  • Champion accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility across our product surfaces.
  • Optimize front-end performance, including Core Web Vitals, bundle size, and runtime rendering.
  • Contribute to the design system's documentation (e.g. Storybook), testing, and release process.
  • Work with engineers to define and uphold front-end architecture patterns, linting rules, and quality gates.
  • Review pull requests for UI quality, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Partner with QA and design to validate visual regression testing and interaction fidelity.
  • Evaluate and pilot new front-end tools, libraries, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you’ll need to be successful

Essential

  • 7+ years experience, 5+ years of which should be product design experience owning end-to-end product work — discovery, concept, interaction design, and validation — for shipped digital products.
  • 2+ years experience in B2B SaaS
  • A portfolio demonstrating problems you framed and solutions you conceived, not only interfaces you built.
  • Demonstrable experience running product discovery and user research, and turning findings into design decisions.
  • Hands-on experience planning and running usability testing, and iterating on the results.
  • Strong experience with multiple frontend-end frameworks (React, AngularJS, Angular, etc.) and a modern component architecture.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries.
  • Experience driving design system adoption across large, multi-repo environments with distributed teams
  • Fluency in Figma as your primary design tool, including prototyping and design-system work.
  • Deep understanding of web accessibility (WCAG 2.2), ARIA, and keyboard interaction patterns.
  • Strong appetite to leverage AI to drive productivity in your day and drive efficiencies in the solutions we build
  • Experience with design tokens, theming, and responsive layout techniques.
  • Strong eye for visual detail, interaction design, and motion.
  • Experience collaborating in agile, cross-functional product teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with design system tools such as Storybook or Tokens Studio.
  • Experience with animation and complex micro-interactions.
  • Familiarity with front-end testing visual regression tools.
  • Experience designing or engineering for mobile or field-worker scenarios.
  • Experience owning design for a whole platform or product suite rather than a single feature area.
  • Familiarity with research operations — participant recruitment, research repositories, and synthesis methods.
  • Exposure to B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or regulated industries.
  • Interest in AI/LLM UX patterns and integrating AI-assisted features into products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience shipping production web applications in a front-end engineering capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
