Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the UK Corporate Banking division, providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed client-focused decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for UK Corporate Banking.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for UK Corporate Banking.

  • To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise.
  • They lead and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources.

UK Corporate Banking at Barclays

UK Corporate Bank supports large and medium corporate clients turning over £6.5m pa up to FTSE 350 firms. We provide the financial and advisory capabilities UK businesses need, from day-to-day banking to complex corporate financing arrangements. Our dedicated sector and regional specialists leverage market-leading relationships, powerful data and insights, and the wider Barclays network, to deliver innovative financing solutions for our clients.

Who We're Looking For

To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree in any area. Ideally, you'll be interested in the UK corporate marketplace and have analytical skills. We value resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which might be showcased through your involvement in extracurricular activities.

Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria for a skilled worker visa.
