Key Responsibilities As UK Facilities Manager

  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed workplace team across multiple UK locations, setting clear objectives and driving high performance.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional workplace and facilities services across the portfolio.
  • Develop governance frameworks, service standards and performance improvement plans to enhance operational delivery.
  • Oversee workplace operations, planned and reactive maintenance and statutory compliance across multiple sites.
  • Manage the annual operating budget, including forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Lead the management of Total Facilities Management (TFM) contracts, ensuring commercial performance and contractual compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance through KPIs, SLAs and regular business reviews.
  • Identify and manage operational, financial, supplier and compliance risks.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on performance, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead workplace projects and change initiatives from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and regulatory standards, supporting internal and external audits.
  • Champion sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement across the workplace portfolio.

We're looking for an experienced workplace or facilities professional who can demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within Workplace, Facilities Management or Corporate Real Estate.
  • Experience managing a multi-site UK portfolio.
  • Experience with CAFM software.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, develop and motivate teams.
  • Excellent financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing outsourced service providers and TFM contracts.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and influence at all levels.
  • Experience driving service improvements, operational excellence and customer-focused workplace environments.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety, compliance and workplace governance.

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in Facilities Management, Workplace Management, Property or Business Management (or equivalent experience).
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised health and safety qualification.
  • Membership of a professional body such as IWFM, IOSH or RICS.
