Are you a technically strong finance leader who thrives on building high-performing teams, driving robust financial control and influencing at a senior level? At Kingfisher, we're looking for a UK Financial Controller - Group Functions to lead our financial control team and ensure excellence in reporting, governance and compliance across our UK Group Functions.
Working at the heart of a complex, international organisation, you'll partner with senior leaders, challenge and enhance existing processes, and play a key role in strengthening controls, governance and operational efficiency across the business.
What's the job?
- Lead and develop the UK Group Functions Financial Control team, driving performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including management accounts, statutory accounts, audit requirements and Group submissions.
- Own and enhance the financial control framework, ensuring strong balance sheet governance, effective controls and risk management.
- Provide clear insight and challenge to senior finance leaders on key financial judgements, risks, compliance matters and control issues.
- Build strong partnerships across Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, Technology and external auditors to deliver robust financial control outcomes.
- Oversee financial governance, transfer pricing, intercompany accounting and process improvement initiatives that strengthen control and operational efficiency.

What you'll bring
- Professionally qualified accountant with strong expertise in financial control, financial reporting and technical accounting.
- Proven finance leader with experience managing and developing teams within complex, multi-entity organisations.
- Strong background in statutory reporting, management reporting, audit delivery and balance sheet governance.
- Deep understanding of internal controls, risk management and compliance, with the ability to strengthen and improve control frameworks.
- Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior leaders and provide constructive challenge.
- Experience driving process improvement and transformation, supported by strong systems, data and analytical capabilities.
