Job Description
- Lead and manage all fleet and transport operations across the UK fleet.
- Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and transport legislation.
- Exercise continuous and effective control of transport activities in accordance with Traffic Commissioner requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain fleet management policies, procedures, and compliance systems.
- Manage vehicle availability, utilisation, and fleet operational performance.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, MOT programmes, and roadworthiness arrangements.
- Monitor vehicle defect reporting and rectification processes to ensure compliance and safety.
- Act as the company's subject matter expert on fleet operations and transport compliance.
- Support and manage Transport Managers operating under company Operator Licences.
- Lead vehicle procurement, replacement programmes, and fleet specification development.
- Work with manufacturers, converters, and suppliers to ensure vehicles are fit for operational requirements.
- Manage supplier contracts, service level agreements, and fleet-related procurement activities.
- Introduce innovative fleet technologies to improve compliance, efficiency, and driver safety.
- Oversee telematics, tachograph analysis, and digital fleet management systems.
- Ensure robust driver compliance, licence checking, and Driver CPC arrangements are maintained.
- Monitor Drivers' Hours and Tachograph compliance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Manage fleet budgets and identify opportunities to improve value for money and reduce operating costs.
- Produce fleet performance reports, compliance dashboards, and management information.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and business assurance activities.
- Lead fleet mobilisation, operational readiness, and new contract implementation projects throughout the UK.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- National CPC in Road Haulage Operations.
- Eligible to act as a professionally competent Transport Manager.
- Full Current UK Driving Licence.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience as a Fleet Manager, Fleet Transport Manager, or Transport Operations Manager.
- Experience managing HGV and LCV fleets operating under Standard Operator's Licences.
- Demonstrable experience of Operator Licence compliance and transport regulation.
- Experience managing Transport Managers and transport compliance functions.
- Experience procuring vehicles and developing operational vehicle specifications.
- Experience implementing fleet technology, telematics, and compliance solutions.
- Experience managing maintenance providers and supplier contracts.
- Experience establishing and managing fleet compliance systems and procedures.
- Experience producing management information and performance reports.
